Interior design has become extremely commercialized, and we seek to get back to the art of homemaking and the functional design that would support it.

When I was younger, I was the housewife that has changed paint colors countless times, shopped at big box stores to get cheap imports that never filled the void. Now as the seasoned designer, after working with countless clients, I understand that what we really seek is a happy home that isn't found in incorporating the latest trends. Rather, I encourage my clients to steer away from disposable design. In the day and age of instant gratification, this mindset ultimately feeds discontent.

The true heart of the home is found intentionally, and is mindfully layered, piece by piece. I'm here to help you get back to basics and achieve beautiful spaces that set the stage for real connection and mindful living.

Interior design has always been a luxury afforded to the super affluent, but we all live in homes and we want them to be as joy-filled and happy as possible. While it can be luxurious and opulent, I believe that good design should be attainable for everyone. (grandmas training, southern living, growing up pouring over )

I love managing projects and watching all of the pieces come together. I love helping my clients create spaces that they are comfortable to be in and excited to share with their families.

As my life has transitioned from single motherhood and converged into a larger, Blended family, I believe I have a unique understanding on the ever changing stages and phases that my clients are experiencing.

Life changes can be painful and debilitating. Often times, the home which was once a source of great joy, becomes a place of deep heart ache. I started the 626 Foundation to give hope to individuals and families facing the aftermath of life's adversities. To apply or nominate someone in need help, click here.

"Susie has done something incredibly rare in earning her credibility from the ground floor... In a day and age of short cuts and posturing for influence, Susie built her success. She's the real deal and deserves all the recognition that comes her way."

"Hiring Susie for our full home renovation was the absolute best decision we could have ever made in the process of remodeling. She knew what particular style we leaned towards and interwove it perfectly with new trends that allowed us to fall in love even more with what she envisioned. From the kitchen, to the bathrooms, and to all bedrooms, every room done by Susie is an absolute masterpiece. She is a pure joy to work with and her positive energy is contagious! We highly recommend Susie to everyone we know and can't say enough great things about her expertise and vision!"

"I came to Susie with Curtis Creation when we purchased a new home. I had no idea what I wanted our living room to look like. Susie sat down with me and was able to identify that I had a traditional style with minimal clutter. It was absolutely important to have decor that is family friendly and could host large gatherings. I wanted people to walk into our space and feel at HOME. Susie went and made a vision board with ideas and prices that were in my budget. She ordered what I needed, and when it was delivered came in and put her loving touch into my space. My heart was so full because she heard me and understood the needs of my family. We are completely in love with our space and will definitely come back to Susie! She is an amazing professional, that was on time and on budget. She is the most amazing woman to work with!"

"It's so hard when you look at houses to envision them being a home. But having Susie by our side to help us imagine what a house could be helped tremendously. She opened our eyes to things we never could have seen before."

"We purchased a home that we loved but needed major work on the interior. I became paralyzed and had no idea what to start with, what would look good, or how to make it happen. Susie came in and immediately developed a vision. Then when I couldn't see it, she created specific drawings to show me what she was thinking. She worked with the contractors to make the vision come to life. She owned the process which gave me my time and sanity back. Then she brought in her skills to finish off the space with all the creative touches (furniture, pillows, decor) to make our house a home. I can not say enough wonderful things about her work!"

"The decorating board really captured the essence of the room I hope to build around. Amazing the design ideas that were sent to me so quickly. There's no telling how much time and money it saved doing it this way!"

Recently, my team and I took a short trip to the Round Top Antique Show. You know Round Top in Texas, the tiny town with a population of 90, who hosts about 100,000 visitors during the two week biannual show. Since we had so much fun, I am sharing a look at the ‘day in the life’ of our trip to Round Top. Keep in mind our goals!
